Much better weather now the wind has decreased and the sun was out, so it meant we had a lovely trip. We had to wait for both of the locks at Bruinisse and the Kramer Lock, so although the journey was only 20 miles, it took about 5 hours. But it was hardly stressful and it was very pleasant. We returned to Oude Tonge because its a great place to provision up, with an Albert Heijn and an Aldi within 50 yards of the boat. Not to mention Kath’s found a much cheapness decent wine in Aldi, in a plastic bottle for 2 euros, so she’s happy!
One thing to note is that the canal up here is quite shallow. We draw 1.8 metres and 2 metres might be a bit problematic. That said it is a nice harbour and worth the trip.
It costs €22 for us and that inc elec. There is also a washing machine here if you need to do some laundry.
