We left Oude Tonge at midday and took a gentle trip through the Volkeraksluizen but by the time we got through we had missed the 3:30 bridge into the Haringvliet. So we anchored and waited for the 18:30 bridge. During this lazy time Kath cleaned the coach roof while I had a sleep. Sounds like a good deal.
The island of Tiengemeten is in the Haringvliet there are moving buoys you can pick up at both ends of the island. However, by the time we got their they were taken but there is plenty of space to anchor in 3-4 meters of water.
We spent a lovely peaceful evening eating and slurping wine.
Sailing Notes:
- Distance: Roughly 16–20 NM depending on your line and time in the lock.
- Locks: You’ll pass through Krammersluizen from Volkerak to Haringvliet.
- Depths: Volkerak and Haringvliet are deep and well-marked. Tiengemeten anchorage is shallow enough for most cruising boats.
- Mooring at Tiengemeten: Anchor only. No pontoons or jetties. 24-hour anchorage is permitted, and it’s free.
- VHF for locks: Krammersluizen – Channel 20.
