Portsmouth to Eastbourne 20.06.13

20130704-083756.jpgWe headed for Goose first thing in the morning. Lots to do on the way, like collect new chart plotter and do a shed load of shopping! Headed for Eastbourne which would have been a calm trip and would have been uneventful if it hadn’t been for thick fog for about 7 hours. Fortunately we had just replaced our chart-plotter so our radar was back working again. This together with the AIS on the iPad seemed to work as a good team. We were surprised by the number of vessels without AIS on, including some small ships and lots of fishing boats.

We arrived at Eastbourne at 8.30pm. Whilst Paul tackled the batteries, Kath and Lucy went to Asda and got more stuff! Came back with takeaway Frankie’n’Bennys for dinner aswell. Washed that down with a glass of vino and had an early night ready for earlyish leave in morning leaving at 6 am to catch the tide to Calais.
