The town of Veere is a step back in time. In fact to the Middle Ages when we were there as they had a festival of the Middle Ages on.
There is no supermarket in the town so we had to cycle back down to Middelburg to get provisions. It’s a fair old cycle (all be it a lovely cycle) and I would recommend the bus which only costs €1.80 per person and goes every half an hour. Especially as, when we cycled on our Bromptons, Lucy (our 3-year-old daughter) had a migraine halfway there, which meant I had to hold her on the child’s saddle as I cycled the last 3 miles, and we had to get the bus back.
The marina cost €25 for us a 13M boat which included electric and wifi which works well.
We do visit Veere again later on this cruise you can read that here.
A personal note from us, given the tightness of the harbour, if your boat is much bigger than 11 metres, I’d suggest entering backwards. That might seem weird, but trust me, you’ll thank me afterwards. Obviously check its safe to do so first.
